1. I introduced the Story Elements-Character and Conflict.
2. The kids made the antagonist and protagonist of their favorite book out of Playdough, then they had a mini conversation between them with the foil arguing every point.
3. We molded the different kinds of conflict (person VS self, person VS nature etc.) and we had mini conversations with those. I made my Playdough bear eat my Playdough person, for Person VS Nature; the kids loved that one.
This is the very first time I have almost 100% understanding of conflict from almost 100% of the kids the very first time I have taught it. I feel like a super, genius teacher today!
Here are a few pics from the lesson

I can't take it to class anymore though. One of the kids took some to lunch and started a Playdough fight. I got "the look" from my principal. Bummer.
Ooooo....I remember when my mom used to make homemade playdough and put peppermint scent in it....ymmm. Promise I didn't eat any.
