As some of you know, the 10th grade English position I was hired for in June fell through. The Washington Department of Education would not recognize the endorsement tests that I took in Oregon and California and I was no longer "highly qualified" for the position. So, I was tossed back into the job pool with the other 2500 applicants vying for 42 jobs.
Yesterday I had an interview at a beautiful middle school about 2 miles from home. I have since spoken to the principal and he let me know that I have been "recommended" for the position, pending all paperwork and fingerprints clearing the state. So, I possibly have a job as an 8th grade Language Arts and Social Studies teacher at a VERY high performing middle school.
I am really excited about all this, but there are still a lot of issues that could blow this for me, mostly TIME. If all paperwork isn't complete by the start of school, I am out. Right now there is nothing I can do but sit and wait and bite my nails off. What really irks me is that I took care of all the paperwork back in June- but CSUN never returned an important form and, for some reason my fingerprint clearance is not showing up on the computer! ACK!
PLEASE cross your fingers, light candles, wish on stars, PRAY, and hope hope hope that everything works out quickly and that I will get this job.
