We got the new doggie on Saturday. I really don't like it! Yesterday was his first unsupervised day at our house;I got home from work and he had dragged the Christmas tree across the house, peed on our bed, DESTROYED the couch cover, smeared mud ALL over (the couches, carpet, rugs, beds, COUNTERTOPS!), got into the food canister and knocked it over, dragged and shook the poinsettia across the living room and dumped the dirt everywhere, knocked all the red goose shoes stuff all over, and lastly, got up on the kitchen countertops and ate the pepperoni sticks.
I walked into the house and freaked out. I started crying uncontrollably and yelling at the dogs. I called Brian at work and tried to tell him what happened but I couldn't get the words out. It was really bad. SO bad that we spent about 2 hours non-stop cleaning. We had to vacuum up all the little broken glass balls from the tree (now we have a 1/2 way naked tree).
Today I am home from work and I left for an hour to go buy milk. When I came home, the tree was knocked over again, the little bit remaining of the poinsettia was once again spread across the dining room floor, and the food canister lid was askew. Tomorrow, I am going to give him sedatives before I leave the house.
I suppose I SHOULD say that he is a VERY good dog under supervision. Very cuddly and loving. This evening he is laying in my lap getting cuddled...although I think he is doing this JUST to be closer to the cat.
Sorry Brian- I am not sure how long we can keep a pup like this. What do you think?

isn't it awful!
He is doing much better now- but still, I might leave the gate open one day...
Didn't that work out for you?
Had I not been bawling, I would have taken some pics. However I was SOOO furiousthat I just wanted the mess gone. Next time, next time.
I honestly feel that this dog will make or break us- he is SUCH a pain!
B did rig a cool area for the dogs to hang in while we are gone. We'll see how that goes.
